Starting on June 1st, there will be several events that are open to the community. For example, the Beverly Animal Shelter will have a huge garage sale at Rodman Lott & Son Farm from 9am to 5pm. Other June events include the Famer’s Market of Cayuga County, which happens at Curley’s Restaurant lot from 7am to 2pm every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. There’s also the Downtown Seafood Fest on June 23rd, and the Music on the Mall starts in June 29th—a series of free live outdoor performances downtown on the second and fourth Fridays of June, July, August, and September.

Whether you and your special someone are looking for a winery tour or you’re hoping for a fun-filled week of outdoor adventure with the family, a road trip in the Finger Lakes is the perfect getaway. As residents familiar to the region, our staff at Sharon Chevrolet have picked up a few tips and tricks to planning a road trip in the Finger Lakes. Here’s what you need to know.
Depart from Auburn and head west to Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. Roam around in the stunning forest region and let all the sights mesmerize you. You might even spot a bald eagle!
Stay overnight in one of the many bed and breakfasts in the area. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, pick from one of the park-maintained campgrounds.
For wine lovers, travel south along the western edge of Lake Cayuga and stop off at one of the lake’s many wineries for a tasting.
Traveling with young ones? Head further south down the western edge of Lake Cayuga, and check out the charming towns of Ovid and Interlaken on your way to the state parks on the lake’s southern tip.
Camp out in Taughannock Falls State Park or keep heading south for a soft bed in the city of Ithaca. Tour the region’s lovely college campuses, then head back north on the eastern side of Lake Cayuga. Finally, it’s home-sweet-home back to Auburn.

Those of us at Sharon Chevrolet love driving our Chevrolet vehicles to new places. So, we’re always looking for memorable destinations and excuses for taking our cars out into the world. These three road trips in New York are some of our favorite drives to take—especially now that the weather is warming up again.
Route 7 from Binghamton to Capital Region
There are many charming little towns in New York. Some of the best road trips are those that will give you an excuse to venture through areas like Unadilla and Bainbridge. Route 7 will do just that, and will also take you past Howe Caverns, the perfect stop-off for beginning spelunkers.
Taconic State Parkway
If you’re into views as much as you are into destinations, then the Taconic State Parkway in Hudson Valley won’t let you down. You’ll see beautiful scenes of the Catskill Mountains and the Berkshires. There are plenty of unique places to stop for a bite to eat along the way.
I-86 Beer Trail
There’s a New York road trip for everyone—even the beer connoisseur. If you stick to I-86, you’ll have the opportunity to stop at up to 19 breweries. Just be sure to pace yourself or book a few bed and breakfasts along the way!

Now that winter is finally behind us, we can start looking ahead to warm weather and planning our spring and summer getaways. Such planning should include some car maintenance goals. These spring service tips will guide you in prepping your vehicle for the new season.
Consult the Owner’s Manual
Since no two models are exactly the same, your vehicle’s service needs are specified exactly in the owner’s manual. Here you can find the recommended service schedules for things like oil changes and belt replacement.
Get Minor Problems Fixed Now
Have you noticed that your car’s air conditioning and heating system seems to be running poorly? Or maybe you’ve found that your vehicle doesn’t always start smoothly and confidently, or that it’s making a strange noise sometimes when idling. The extreme heat that’s on its way with summer is likely to make any current problems even worse. Stay proactive and bring your vehicle into Sharon Chevrolet ASAP to resolve potential issues now before they become more costly.
Stock Wiper Fluid
Though the days of road salt may be gone for now, spring and summer bring their own forms of road debris like dust and bugs. Make sure your windshield wipers are in good condition, and that your vehicle is well-stocked on wiper fluid.
If you have any maintenance questions or need to set up a spring upkeep appointment with one of our certified technicians, give us a call at Sharon Chevrolet.
