Chevrolet has big plans to add a variety of electric vehicles to its lineup in the coming years. While some of them will be “everyday” vehicles, at least one of them will add a big jolt of excitement: the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer SS EV. This electric version of the Blazer will be a performance model of the SUV wearing the SS badge.
Chevrolet has released only minimal information about the electric Blazer SS so far. In fact, the only official announcement is that it will start arriving at dealerships in the spring of 2023, so you can contact Auburn Chevrolet to pre-order it.
Chevrolet also gave us a short teaser video that shows a red vehicle with a charging cable plugged into a port. In the footage, someone unplugs the cable, and then the charging door built into the front fender automatically closes. That sure gets Blazer fans excited!
Industry experts expect the Blazer SS EV to use the new General Motors Ultium electric vehicle platform. It will also likely use the new Ultium battery cells produced at the GM plant in Lordstown, Ohio. GM says these batteries are 60% stronger than the current cells in the Chevrolet Bolt.
If you want to check out the current Blazer, you can find it for sale at Auburn Chevrolet Buick GMC. It boasts a sporty, Camaro-inspired design. If you’re willing to wait, you can pre-order the Blazer SS EV through our dealership.
