Halloween is a fun night for all, but it can also be a more dangerous time to drive since there’s an increased number of pedestrians on the streets. Here are some tips for safe driving on Halloween that you should keep in mind as the holiday approaches.
Keep your eyes on the road
You should never drive distracted, no matter the time of the year. However, this is especially true on Halloween night when children are darting through neighborhoods. It’s important to keep your eyes on the road and avoid looking at your phone or at anything else that could be distracting.
Children don’t always pay attention to their surroundings, so keep in mind that they could run onto the road unexpectedly. In case you need to quickly stop your vehicle, you should drive below the posted speed limit during trick-or-treating hours.
Make sure you’re extra cautious when pulling out of driveways. You should always check your mirrors for children behind you. If you need to pick up or drop off your children, turn on your hazards when you pull over.
We at Sharon Chevrolet hope you stay safe on the road and have a spooky Halloween. Head to our service department for any necessary maintenance before the Halloween fun begins.
According to the Cars.com list of “most American” cars, Chevrolet vehicles are considered quite American in comparison to other vehicles. Year after year, the popular Cars.com utilizes an American-Made Index to determine which new models contribute most to the U.S. economy. This year, the 2019 Corvette, 2019 Colorado and 2019 Camaro were the Chevrolet models voted “most American.”
Cars.com relies on five factors to build a comprehensive picture of a model’s economic benefit: where a vehicle’s assembly takes place, where a vehicle’s transmissions and engines are from, a vehicle’s domestic-parts content and the number of U.S. factory workers employed by the parent automaker in relation to the vehicle’s sales.
Notably, Chevrolet was the only automaker both headquartered and manufactured in the U.S. to land more than one model in the top 10 of the list. Assembled in Kentucky, the iconic Corvette was ranked fifth. The Colorado, assembled in Missouri, came in at number eight. Just shy of the top 10, the powerful Camaro is assembled in Lansing, Michigan, and ranked 11th.
We at Sharon Chevrolet are proud to offer the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro, Colorado and Corvette. Take a test drive in each impressive model at our dealership.
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado has a host of great features and a legion of loyal fans, so it’s no surprise that Chevrolet wanted an advertisement that focuses on the truck. The Chevrolet ad campaign, “Real People, Not Actors,” shines a spotlight on the 2019 Silverado by having real drivers comment on the pickup.
The “Real People, Not Actors” ad spot begins on a dark worksite, where a host leads a group of people to the 2019 Silverado. As the group looks at the truck, the darkness makes it evident just how bright the LED bed lighting is in the Silverado Durabed, with one participating remarking that the lighting “lights up the entire bed.”
Another feature highlighted in the commercial is the Durabed itself. The Durabed is both “sturdy” and “huge,” as two participants note. As part of the Durabed, the 120-volt outlet is pointed out by the host, before a cord is plugged in, dramatically igniting a streetlamp directly above the truck.
The commercial host also announces that the 2019 Silverado 1500 offers eight trim levels, which is more than any of its competitors. On cue, other streetlamps are lit, revealing the sophistication and versatility of the trims, which stand out in the night.
We at Sharon Chevrolet are proud to have the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado on our lot. Stop by for a test drive.
Every day another group of teen drivers pass their tests and take to the roadways alone. In recent years, there has been a surge in vehicle technology that helps parents monitor their teen’s driving behaviors and encourage smart roadside behavior. Chevy recently announced the news of an industry-first feature that will enforce one aspect of safe driving before the vehicle ever switches gears.
Chevy’s Buckle to Drive feature is a customizable setting that makes it impossible to shift out of park unless the driver’s seat belt is securely fastened. This simple step makes sure that not only is the seat belt buckled but it is done so properly each time.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, using a seat belt is the number one thing drivers can do to protect themselves in the event of a collision. Chevy acknowledges this reality and has now provided an option for concerned parents to ensure that their new driver is following this advice. And if you are an adult that has picked up a few lax seat-belt habits in your years of otherwise safe driving, this can be an easy way to help form a new safer habit.

It’s hard to believe that the long-running American dark-fantasy TV show “Supernatural” is now in its 15th and final season. Though, it’s not really surprising that the show has grown a large fan base around the protagonists’ iconic 1967 Chevy Impala.
In the show, brothers Dean and Sam Winchester have the unique family business of traveling the country to fight paranormal monsters. Their black 1967 Chevrolet Impala is their trusty companion whom they dub “Baby.”
Per the show’s creator Eric Kripke, the inspiration for Baby came from the show Knight Rider, where the car KITT played a central role in the series. “I really wanted to introduce the Impala to bring back the idea that a car could be a main character, a trademark to the show,” he said. Kripke chose the ’67 Impala, a vehicle with intimidating looks and a big enough trunk to store a body. Interestingly enough, nine Impalas were used to achieve different camera angles and to capture shots of the Chevy in various states of wreckage.
The show’s success has enhanced the ‘67 Impala model’s popularity, which in turn, has increased its market value. When the show began in 2005, a 1967 Chevy Impala went for as low as $500. In October 2016, the car became the most searched for vehicle on ClassicCars.com, with over 50,000 searches. Currently, ‘67 Impalas range from $20,000 to $50,000. A brand-new 2019 Chevy Impala starts at $28,000.
Give a head-nod to the show’s 1967 Impala when you stop by Sharon Chevrolet to test-drive the current Impala model or these other popular Chevy sedans.
Each year, there are new SUVs and crossovers on the road, but not all of them, are created equal. In fact, some stand out as amongst the very best out there, including the 2019 Chevrolet Trax, which recently earned a coveted spot on the U.S. News and World Report’s 20 Safest Small SUVs of 2019 list. Up against some stiff competition in a crowded segment, the 2019 Trax emerged as one of the best in the category.
US News writer Steven Loveday cited the SUVs excellent five-star overall crash test rating from the NHTSA as part of their decision to name the 2019 Trax one of the safest SUVs of 2019. Additionally, he noted that the Trax performed well in rollover and strong and side crash tests.
Despite its city-smart small size, the 2019 Chevrolet Trax is packed with impressive standard and available safety features. 10 standard airbags let you drive with confidence while available advanced features like Forward Collision Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert all work in tandem to keep your exceptionally safe no matter the conditions out there. Additional standard features, including an advanced Tire Pressure Monitoring System and StabiliTrak® stability control system offer even more control on the road for safer driving.

If you want your vehicle to transition from winter to spring without a problem, it’s important to provide seasonal service to your vehicle. These spring maintenance tips will help your auto run safely and efficiently.
Whether you have your vehicle’s oil changed by a professional or whether you learn to do it yourself, it’s important to perform this maintenance step regularly. Your owner’s manual will tell you how frequently your specific model needs this service.
You can expect plenty of rain showers in the spring, which means it’s important to have a good set of wiper blades on your vehicle. New wiper blades are inexpensive and easy to change, and can make a huge difference in visibility when driving in the rain.
Tires go through a lot during the winter, as they regularly encounter snow, ice, and potholes. Check the tires on your vehicle to ensure there’s no damage — like cracks or bulges — and have them replaced if need be.
After a long winter, it’s important to give your vehicle an overall checkup or to have a professional inspect the under-the-hood area. Look at fluid levels, check the condition of the filters, and make sure that the hoses and belts are still in good condition.
Contact us at Sharon Chevrolet to set up a spring maintenance appointment for your ride. It’s the easiest way to make sure your vehicle is in tip-top shape as we head into a new season.
Chevrolet began a partnership with Warner Bros. back in 2017 when The LEGO Batman Movie launched in theaters, with Chevy heralding the collaboration by showing off a LEGO version of the Batmobile.
Now, Chevrolet and Warner Bros. are back at it again, teaming up with FIRST LEGO League to unveil a full-size LEGO Silverado at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This LEGO model is an exact representation of the all-new 2019 model year, particularly the LT Trail Boss trim.
Eighteen trained LEGO Master Builders pieced together the full-size LEGO Silverado using 334,544 bricks. The entire process took over 2,000 hours at the LEGO Group’s model shop in Enfield, Connecticut. The end result is 6-foot tall, 20-foot long, and 8-foot wide plastic car weighing 3,307 pounds. The LEGO Silverado is not a working model; it does, however, have working lights and graphic details on the exterior.
What’s the occasion for the build? Chevrolet is celebrating that the new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado High Country will make an appearance in LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part in the form of a custom LEGO mini-build.
If you want a real-life Silverado that’s much more durable than a plastic model, visit Sharon Chevrolet. We have plenty of trucks in stock — no assembly required.
No one likes driving in the snow; it’s stressful, dangerous, and time-consuming. But, some drivers mind it less than others, and those drivers are the ones behind the wheel of one of these winter-ready and snow-competent vehicles.
This crossover is ready for just about any weather the season throws its way. The Honda CR-V features stable suspension, a capable powertrain, and precise responsiveness, all of which will come in handy when the snow piles up.
Redesigned in 2018, the Chevy Equinox feels like it was bred for driving in the snow. The new Equinox features optional all-wheel drive and two turbocharged four-cylinder engines, so you’ll have the capability and power to blast through any level of snowfall. Plus, as an added bonus, the Equinox features Remote Start, so you can get the motor running and heat pumping before you enter the vehicle.
It’s no secret that all Subaru vehicles come with standard All-Wheel Drive. This alone boosts every Subaru model’s ability to drive in the snow. Additionally, Subaru designed its vehicles with activity in mind. This means the vehicles generally boast better clearance and handling systems, which are essential for navigating snowy terrains.
You can find a wide selection of pre-owned vehicles at Sharon Chevrolet that are great for driving through the snowy roads of Liverpool, New York.
The all-new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD is making its way closer to its rollout next year, but first we’re getting a better look at the upcoming heavy duty pickup. So far, we’ve seen the aggressive LT and premium High Country trims in detail.
The mid-range LT boasts an aggressive style with a bold grille and slick character lines. An athletic stance and upscale interior make the LT model a true sight to behold. The upcoming Silverado HD LT combines luxury and muscle for drivers who want the best of both worlds.
The premium 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD High Country recently made its debut. A conservative design and body-color bumpers create a sense of sophistication in the hefty pickup. A rather simple grille and bowtie logo further reinforce the streamlined styling. An exclusive two-tone metallic trim comes standard on the range-topping model.
An all-new gasoline V8 engine will power the upcoming pickup, though details won’t be disclosed until the full 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD reveal. Drivers have the option of selecting an updated variant of the Duramax® turbo-diesel V8 engine as well.
2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD maximum towing and payload capacities aren’t known yet. What we do know is that both values will be higher than the current truck’s ratings. And, we at Sharon Chevrolet know that these new trucks will be fantastic machines, like the rest of the Silverado line.
