The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado has a host of great features and a legion of loyal fans, so it’s no surprise that Chevrolet wanted an advertisement that focuses on the truck. The Chevrolet ad campaign, “Real People, Not Actors,” shines a spotlight on the 2019 Silverado by having real drivers comment on the pickup.
The “Real People, Not Actors” ad spot begins on a dark worksite, where a host leads a group of people to the 2019 Silverado. As the group looks at the truck, the darkness makes it evident just how bright the LED bed lighting is in the Silverado Durabed, with one participating remarking that the lighting “lights up the entire bed.”
Another feature highlighted in the commercial is the Durabed itself. The Durabed is both “sturdy” and “huge,” as two participants note. As part of the Durabed, the 120-volt outlet is pointed out by the host, before a cord is plugged in, dramatically igniting a streetlamp directly above the truck.
The commercial host also announces that the 2019 Silverado 1500 offers eight trim levels, which is more than any of its competitors. On cue, other streetlamps are lit, revealing the sophistication and versatility of the trims, which stand out in the night.
We at Sharon Chevrolet are proud to have the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado on our lot. Stop by for a test drive.
Every day another group of teen drivers pass their tests and take to the roadways alone. In recent years, there has been a surge in vehicle technology that helps parents monitor their teen’s driving behaviors and encourage smart roadside behavior. Chevy recently announced the news of an industry-first feature that will enforce one aspect of safe driving before the vehicle ever switches gears.
Chevy’s Buckle to Drive feature is a customizable setting that makes it impossible to shift out of park unless the driver’s seat belt is securely fastened. This simple step makes sure that not only is the seat belt buckled but it is done so properly each time.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, using a seat belt is the number one thing drivers can do to protect themselves in the event of a collision. Chevy acknowledges this reality and has now provided an option for concerned parents to ensure that their new driver is following this advice. And if you are an adult that has picked up a few lax seat-belt habits in your years of otherwise safe driving, this can be an easy way to help form a new safer habit.

If you want your vehicle to transition from winter to spring without a problem, it’s important to provide seasonal service to your vehicle. These spring maintenance tips will help your auto run safely and efficiently.
Whether you have your vehicle’s oil changed by a professional or whether you learn to do it yourself, it’s important to perform this maintenance step regularly. Your owner’s manual will tell you how frequently your specific model needs this service.
You can expect plenty of rain showers in the spring, which means it’s important to have a good set of wiper blades on your vehicle. New wiper blades are inexpensive and easy to change, and can make a huge difference in visibility when driving in the rain.
Tires go through a lot during the winter, as they regularly encounter snow, ice, and potholes. Check the tires on your vehicle to ensure there’s no damage — like cracks or bulges — and have them replaced if need be.
After a long winter, it’s important to give your vehicle an overall checkup or to have a professional inspect the under-the-hood area. Look at fluid levels, check the condition of the filters, and make sure that the hoses and belts are still in good condition.
Contact us at Sharon Chevrolet to set up a spring maintenance appointment for your ride. It’s the easiest way to make sure your vehicle is in tip-top shape as we head into a new season.
Chevrolet began a partnership with Warner Bros. back in 2017 when The LEGO Batman Movie launched in theaters, with Chevy heralding the collaboration by showing off a LEGO version of the Batmobile.
Now, Chevrolet and Warner Bros. are back at it again, teaming up with FIRST LEGO League to unveil a full-size LEGO Silverado at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This LEGO model is an exact representation of the all-new 2019 model year, particularly the LT Trail Boss trim.
Eighteen trained LEGO Master Builders pieced together the full-size LEGO Silverado using 334,544 bricks. The entire process took over 2,000 hours at the LEGO Group’s model shop in Enfield, Connecticut. The end result is 6-foot tall, 20-foot long, and 8-foot wide plastic car weighing 3,307 pounds. The LEGO Silverado is not a working model; it does, however, have working lights and graphic details on the exterior.
What’s the occasion for the build? Chevrolet is celebrating that the new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado High Country will make an appearance in LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part in the form of a custom LEGO mini-build.
If you want a real-life Silverado that’s much more durable than a plastic model, visit Sharon Chevrolet. We have plenty of trucks in stock — no assembly required.
The all-new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD is making its way closer to its rollout next year, but first we’re getting a better look at the upcoming heavy duty pickup. So far, we’ve seen the aggressive LT and premium High Country trims in detail.
The mid-range LT boasts an aggressive style with a bold grille and slick character lines. An athletic stance and upscale interior make the LT model a true sight to behold. The upcoming Silverado HD LT combines luxury and muscle for drivers who want the best of both worlds.
The premium 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD High Country recently made its debut. A conservative design and body-color bumpers create a sense of sophistication in the hefty pickup. A rather simple grille and bowtie logo further reinforce the streamlined styling. An exclusive two-tone metallic trim comes standard on the range-topping model.
An all-new gasoline V8 engine will power the upcoming pickup, though details won’t be disclosed until the full 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD reveal. Drivers have the option of selecting an updated variant of the Duramax® turbo-diesel V8 engine as well.
2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD maximum towing and payload capacities aren’t known yet. What we do know is that both values will be higher than the current truck’s ratings. And, we at Sharon Chevrolet know that these new trucks will be fantastic machines, like the rest of the Silverado line.
It can be stressful shopping for a family vehicle, as you’re investing a significant amount of money into purchasing a vehicle that will be transporting your family for years to come. You will likely consider various features that are important to families, including space, safety, and price. Luckily, Parents Magazine and Edmunds.com would like to help you with your decision, and that’s why they evaluated over 300 vehicles and made a “10 Best Family Cars of 2018” list.
Two Chevrolet vehicles made the prestigious list: the Chevy Traverse and Malibu. Both cars are great family vehicles, but for different reasons. The Traverse offers comfortable seating for up to eight passengers and up to 98.2 cubic feet of cargo space, while the Malibu offers an ample amount of space for car seats but is still remarkably efficient, with its Hybrid model achieving 49 mpg in the city.*
Both vehicles offer advanced connectivity and convenience technologies, including smart infotainment systems and USB charging ports so everyone can stay entertained and charged up while on the go.
To determine which vehicles ended up on the list and beat out the competition, the judges evaluated various family-friendly features, including specific features like how easy it is to install and use car seats in the vehicle. What they found with the Traverse and Malibu led to their distinction as top family vehicles of 2018.
If you’re in the market for a new family vehicle, you can find the new Chevrolet Traverse and Malibu at Sharon Chevrolet.

Route 7 from Binghamton to Capital Region
There are many charming little towns in New York. Some of the best road trips are those that will give you an excuse to venture through areas like Unadilla and Bainbridge. Route 7 will do just that, and will also take you past Howe Caverns, the perfect stop-off for beginning spelunkers.
Taconic State Parkway
If you’re into views as much as you are into destinations, then the Taconic State Parkway in Hudson Valley won’t let you down. You’ll see beautiful scenes of the Catskill Mountains and the Berkshires. There are plenty of unique places to stop for a bite to eat along the way.
I-86 Beer Trail
There’s a New York road trip for everyone—even the beer connoisseur. If you stick to I-86, you’ll have the opportunity to stop at up to 19 breweries. Just be sure to pace yourself or book a few bed and breakfasts along the way!

Now that winter is finally behind us, we can start looking ahead to warm weather and planning our spring and summer getaways. Such planning should include some car maintenance goals. These spring service tips will guide you in prepping your vehicle for the new season.
Consult the Owner’s Manual
Since no two models are exactly the same, your vehicle’s service needs are specified exactly in the owner’s manual. Here you can find the recommended service schedules for things like oil changes and belt replacement.
Get Minor Problems Fixed Now
Have you noticed that your car’s air conditioning and heating system seems to be running poorly? Or maybe you’ve found that your vehicle doesn’t always start smoothly and confidently, or that it’s making a strange noise sometimes when idling. The extreme heat that’s on its way with summer is likely to make any current problems even worse. Stay proactive and bring your vehicle into Sharon Chevrolet ASAP to resolve potential issues now before they become more costly.
Stock Wiper Fluid
Though the days of road salt may be gone for now, spring and summer bring their own forms of road debris like dust and bugs. Make sure your windshield wipers are in good condition, and that your vehicle is well-stocked on wiper fluid.
If you have any maintenance questions or need to set up a spring upkeep appointment with one of our certified technicians, give us a call at Sharon Chevrolet.
